Electricity production

Hydroelectric power stations

We produce climate-friendly and renewable energy through three hydropower plants. The total output is 830 kW which, with an annual energy production of 2,800,000 kWh, supplies approximately 700 households with electricity.

Power station Kollbrunn

  • Water throughput: 4.6 m³/s
  • Hydraulic head: 7.5 m
  • 2 Francis turbines, built in 1939
  • Output: Gen. 1 = 130 kVA, Gen. 2 = 200 kVA, combined maximum output: 200 kW
  • Average annual production: 770’000 kWh/a

Power station Sennhof

  • Water throughput: 5.15 m³/s
  • Hydraulic head: 10.6 m
  • Maximum continuous output: 430 kW
  • New power plant built in 2013/2014
  • Vertical Kaplan turbine built by Global Hydro Energy, Austria
  • Average annual production: 1’400’000 kWh/a

Power station Linsental

  • Water throughput: 5.15 m³/s
  • Hydraulic head: 5.6 m
  • 1 Kaplan turbine, built in 1942 by Escher Wyss
  • Generator: 250 kVA, max. continuous output: 200 kW
  • Average annual production: 650’000 kWh/a

PV-Systems

The photovoltaic installation on the roof of the «Factory”, one of the largest of the entire region, produces 530’000 kWh of renewable energy annually.

On the roof of the "Spinnerei", the dormer windows and the pitched roof above the power station will be fitted with photovoltaic modules. This will result in an annual electricity production of approximately 120,000 kWh.

Both solar power systems feed the electricity they generate into the site's power grid, allowing residential and commercial tenants to benefit from affordable solar power.
